They are produced by a special machine with no seams, which usually affect leaking or erosion on the sectional gutters. Connections of seamless gutters are done only on the inside and outside corners, and downspout outlets.
Seamless gutters come in a range of materials. There are copper, galvanized steel and aluminum, to name a few. They may be finished by aluminum and also may be painted in many colors, which work well with the color of the house. Seamless gutters can have custom lengths.
Seamless gutters should better be fabrics and installed by professionals. But it may also be DIY (Do It Yourself) project. Portable machines for the production of seamless gutters are available in stores for rental. For installation, several tools and a seamless gutter machine (purchase cost is near $20,000) are needed.
In choosing the contractor company, check more than one company. Companies have to give the warranty on their products. A minimum 3 year installation warranty and 20 year minimum material warranty.
When the choice is made, it`s time to have the contractor come over in person. He should show some samples, pictures or video, addresses of the houses with finished work and give a few references.
Before installation, the professional has to provide an estimate of the cost of the project. The cost depend on numerous factors, such as design of the homes` facade, the type of roof, the number and type of corners on the house and many other variables. Some of the houses may need repairs to the roof first before proceeding with installation. As an example, rotting parts should be replaced. The estimator will point out what part(s) has to be redone. Check the estimated bill to see if reconstruction/repair project costs are included in the price.
